The Timor-Leste Humanitarian Country Team (HCT) is convened under the leadership of the Minister of Interior, Minister of Social Solidarity, the United Nations Resident Coordinator, and PLAN Internationa
The objective of the Timor-Leste HCT is to ensure sound coordination and communication on emergency preparedness, response and early recovery in Timor-Leste. It seeks to optimize the collective effort of the UN, other international organizations, non-governmental organizations and the Red Cross Movement. The HCT works in close collaboration with the Government to facilitate a coordinated and effective approach for the provision of assistance to and protection of people affected by a humanitarian crisis.
The United Nations Office of the Resident Coordinator (RCO) acts as the HCT Secretariat.
