The UN Resident Coordinator Office in Timor-Leste prepared an Emergency Response Plan (ERP) in close collaboration with the Ministry of Interior and the Humanitarian Country Team, to address the recent El Niño situation.

IFRC & CVTL Emergency Appeal
The IFRC has on the behalf of CVTL launched an Emergency appeal to assist and support 20 000 people in Timor-Leste affected by the drought caused by el Niño.
UN Food & Agriculture Organization (FAO) Concept Note – submitted to EU
Objective: to enhance the livelihood resilience of vulnerable farm families in disaster-prone areas of Timor-Leste through the institutionalisation of disaster risk reduction (DRR) and early warning for mitigation and response in agriculture, emphasising the promotion of climate-smart agricultural practises in El Niño-affected areas.
To be implemented by FAO, on behalf of the Government of Timor-Leste and Ministry of Agriculture & Fisheries.
