Ex Pacific Partnership 2016

Pacific Partnership is an annual civil-military coordination exercise with biennial cooperation engagement in Timor-Leste. Pacific Partnerships’ goals are to improve the interoperability of the region’s military forces, governments, and humanitarian organizations while providing medical, dental, and engineering assistance and training and strengthening the relationships and security ties between member states.

As part of the 2016 edition of Pacific Partnership, a Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HA/DR) Workshop took place at the F-FDTL HQ (Dili, Timor-Leste) from 13 to 17 June 2016.

The objective of the workshop was to provide the opportunity to review collective preparedness for response measures, including contingency planning assumptions, and discuss how to establish liaison and coordination with national and foreign military actors that would provide their support for a more effective response to natural hazards in Timor-Leste.

The event saw the participation of the highest authorities in the Government of Timor-Leste, the F-FDTL as well as foreign military forces such as the Australian Defence Force (ADF), the United States Pacific Command (US PACOM), the Singapore Defence Force, the Japanese Self Defence Force, among others.
